ENGLAND 1 PORTUGAL 3 (PK)

England doesn't deserve to lose!!! They played so well though Beckham limped off and Rooney was sent off in the 2nd half. It's an penalty anogy for England, why they usually have been kicked out of major championships by penalty shoot out? :( How can they break the curse? It's really sad to seeing them go home! I thought at least they could go to the final!!

BOAT TRIP@SAI KUNG

I went for boat trip today. The weather was quite well and there was a shower in the afternoon. Luckily it didn't last too long. We assembled at Sai Kung Pier and then took the boat to a small beach. The beach was small but quite clean.

It was so fun to play with the doggies, they looked so cute when they were swimming and looking for their masters. I didn't know some dogs wouldn't like swimming and they just rolled over the sand lol So funny!

DINNER AT WATAMI

I have been so busy with work these days because of the end of the month. I heard a shock news today and I can feel the change of the atmosphere at work. Anyway it's none of my business and I better not to get involve in it. I won't make any comment and personal ideas again. Misunderstanding can be a weapon to ruin everything!

Dinner at Watami but it's only my 2nd or 3rd times eating there. The food in Watami doesn't impress me much. They don't have many special menu or food. I don't understand why so many people like this restaurant. It's not really bad but it can never be my 1st chioce.

FRANCE 3 SPAIN 1

Spain lost the game!! How come? I thought at least Spain would win 2-0!! Those Spanish lads can't win the French old boys? This game is so unpredictable! Zidane is France's luck charm and France won by experience. I don't think there is gulf between these two teams. France will face Brazil for the next game, but can France win Brazil like what they did in World Cup 98?

OFFICE POLITICS

What is Office Politics?
  1. Social alliances form between colleagues of similar interests, and they may team up against other perceived competitors.
  2. Personal factors may divide the groups, often including age, gender or qualifications
  3. Competition for favour between two executives striving for the top

When you are so busy at work and you try to concentrate on it, usually there are other problems for you to grappling with. It may not a real problem of your work, but you have to find way to fit the culture of your office. If you are too straighforward, you may be thought as critical. If you get too close to your boss, you may be thought as a flatterer. It's so hard to gain the balance and not involving into troubles!

ENGLAND 1 ECUADOR 0

Oh Yeah!! England goes to Quarter-finals!! :) Ashley Cole saved England and the perfect unsavable free kick from Beckham lead England win over Ecuador. I think this new formation 4-5-1 is still not very good and England can only win from free kick. Lampard missed many chances, may be next game Eriksson can consider to leave Lampard on the bench?

The next game will be Portugal and Netherlands, it's too late for me to watch it. Let me guess, Portugal will win and they will face England in Quarter-finals. Oh well, it will be a hard game for England!

WC KNOCK OUT STAGE KO

World cup knock out stage kicks off!! The games will be much more interesting. Leaving aside England, I think Spain, Portugal and Argentia have chance to win the champion. But I don't like Argentia, I don't want them win :P Hopefully England can win Ecuador easily. But it won't be a easy game to play Portugal or Netherlands in Quarter-finals.

JOB OFFER

I'm quite content with my job now beoz of the good working hours and benifits. Although sometimes I have many things to do and I need to work overtime, it's still not too bad for me. My company is now expanding and seems the prospect is good. But today my cousin asked me whether I would like to change the job. I have been working for half year here and I just get used to my job now, I don't feel like changing job again so soon.

It's his friend's company who need a girl to work for something related to admin and account. I don't have any experience in admin and accout, also they require the candidate who can speak Mandarin and good proficiency of Japanese. I'm not interested in this field and I can only speak simple Mandarin, but the salary is 40% more than my current salary, it sounds really attractive!! May be I should go to have an interview to see how it is. Who don't work for money? I thought I wouldn't just work for money but the reality is you are the one who is chosen not you can choose!

ENGLAND 2 SWEDEN 2

Oh my god! :( Owen got bad knee injury and was taken away on a stretcher after playing for only a minute and more. I can't believe!! How unlucky he is!! Finally he could line up with Rooney in the front and had chance to prove to the world that he is one of the top striker but he twisted his right knee :( He can't play World Cup anymore and he is going back to England :( A sourse revealed that he suffered serious ligament damage and will not be able to play again until Christmas. How come? He got injured since last Christmas!!

What a pity England can't win Sweden!! But anyway it's not big different even they drew the game. It's good that the next game will play with Ecuador not Germany :) It won't be easy to win over the host. Joe Cole's and Steven Gerrard were amazing!! Obviously Crouch is the problem!! He can't fit in any of the strikers like Michael or Rooney. Most of the scores from England are shot by midfielders. Michael can't play now and Crouch is a shit, how can England win?

DINNER @ MI-NE SUSHI

Dinner with friend at Mi-Ne Sushi. I haven't been there for a long time coz there are always loads of people waiting for the tables outside and I don't have patience to wait. Today we waited for the table a little bit early than usual dinner time so we didn't need to wait for too long. The sushi are still as good as usual, yummy ;) I ate a lot and I was so full!! I got a little pot of violets from my friend!! I have been thinking to get violets for a long time and I like to have little plants at work. It makes everything look lively! I have no idea how to take care of a plant but seems violet is not difficult to plant. All I need is to water it sometimes. That's easy!! :)

I wanna finish the roll of my film, so we went to Victoria Park to take pics. There was kitty!! But it didn't like being photo taken so I couldn't get closer. I do think my Natura Black is a very good camera to take pics at night!!

FATHER'S DAY

Today is Father's Day. I had dinner with family at Cambo Thai Restaurant. I didn't want to eat Thai food coz I just had it last week. But dad likes this Thai Restaurant very much so we went there. We had shrimp sashimi, chicken, vegetable, curry beef and garlic bread. Overall the food wasn't very good and the service was really bad, I think because today is father's day and there are so many people waiting for the tables, so everything is under their usual standard. Anyway it's a way to please my dad coz I don't know what to buy for him.

There is a research about mid-age fathers who feel jealous with their wives and children coz their children tend to be closer to their mothers more than fathers. Surprisingly after watching the research, dad admitted he was also that kinda father. Sometimes I think it's difficult to communicate with dad, not I don't want to talk to him, it's just he is not open-minded. May be one day he can understand us more and he is willing to communicate with us.

DINNER AT SUSHI TEI

Dinner at TST Sushi Tei tonight. I still think the one on Tsim Sha Tsui is the best. Their sashimi and sushi are fresher and more delicious. We ordered too much food but we couldn't finish them :P After dinner we went to game centre to play for a while. I haven't been to game centre for many years so I only play those common games like driving and points hunt. I missed the football game of Argentina and I was surprised they got 6 scores! Luckily England isn't in the same group with Argentina this year!

ENGLAND 2 TRINIDAD & TOBAGO 0

Why Owen was taken out again? :'( Darn!! Eriksson is so indecisive!! He is not deserved to be England Manager!! I don't think it's a right decision to substitute Michael and Joe Cole. It's ok to let Rooney playing for a while but not Crouch!! He should be the one who was replaced!! I wasn't happy to see Crouch scoring. He was only lucky!! What did he do? He did nothing and he is not contributive!! I only cheered for Steven Gerrard and he got a stunning score. I'm happy that England can definately go to round of 16 but can Owen play if Rooney has fully recovered? :(

MONEY MANAGEMENT

What would you do if you only have enough money to do one thing as per following?

1. Buy something to please yourself
2. Donation
3. Gambling
4. Investment
5. Save it up
6. Study and upgrade yourself
7. Travel

Do you see things in short-term or long-term? I know what I want to choose but I'm a greedy person :D I wish I could choose all :P

ENGLAND 1 PARAGUAY 0

Yeah! England won their first game!! :) They made a good start and pressured Paraguay to make an own goal, especially Beckham and Jole Cole did so well in this game. But I feel a little bit dissappointed that England didn't score. And what a pity Owen was taken out after 56 mins and I think he would play better if he could play all 90 mins. I don't like Crouch and I don't think he played well. I don't like Rooney too but I think he is much better than Crouch. Hopefully next game Rooney can partner Owen coz I feel annoyed to see Crouch on the pitch.

I like BLACK RAIN/ World Cup Opening

== I like BLACK RAIN ==

Thanks "Black Rain"!! I got half day off today!! How lucky that I could go back home in the noon! I thought when it is Black Rain, all the employees can leave but seems not many companies allow their staffs to leave. Staying in the safety place? Nowhere is more safety than my home :P

I'm in such happy mood that I got extra day off in the afternoon. It's really rare to see me happy in the rainy days :) I could have time to work on my travel pics and finally I've finished it!!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

== World Cup Opening ==

It's not surprising that Germany won over Costa Rica. They are strong enough to beat Costa Rica and they are host. How can they lose in the opening game? There are so many young players and they tend to more offensive now. But I don't think Germany has much chance to win the World Cup :P

Dinner @ Thai Restaurant

Meeting old friends tonight and had dinner at a Thai restaurant (Mini Bangkok). It's just like usual, many people were waiting for the tables and we had to wait for nearly an hour. I haven't been there for a long time and this restaurant has been expanded. Overall it was great especially the curry fired crabs but I think other food wasn't as good as before.

It's good to meet old friends and talk about everything. Especially complaining about work and unhappy stuff and talk about funny things. I do agree that we can be ourself and talk openly to our friends. It's really tiring to act differently at work coz you have to please your boss and your colleagues.

I'm BACK!!

After a short vacation, I came back to Hong Kong finally! I'm still in holiday mood and I don't feel like going to work. It's just like I'm coming back to reality from my dream :( I miss everything in England!! When I was in England, I complained about the cold, changeable weather but when I come back, I hate the humid gloomy weather in Hong Kong!! The worse thing is the air-conditioner hasn't worked for few days!! How can I cope with this kind of weather?

The Last Day in ENGLAND

This is the last day that I stay in England. It's really sad that my holiday is going to be over! I wish my holiday was never ended. After lunch, I have to go to Leeds and take the train to Kings Cross and then take the underground to Heathrow. It's a long journey!! When I arrived Kings Cross, it was already 5.30pm and I thought I could arrive the Airport before 7pm. But unfortunately the underground didn't work on a station (can't remember which one), so I had to take the bus to another station and get back to the underground to the Airport. When I arrived airport it was nearly 8pm already! But my flight delayed until 11.10pm so it was ok. But the shops in the airport closed so early so I couldn't shop around.

I had great time in England so I feel bad to leave there. Hopefully I can go again soon. I would like to visit London again. Next time I want to visit Cambridge, Oxford, Lake District and Scotland. Who say England is boring? It's not boring for me!

The 7th Day in YORK

York is an historic city and when I stepped out from the York Station, I could see the stonegate and the old buildings. There were some gaurds marching to the war Memorial Gardens and many people took pics for them. Yotk Minster is in the centre of York and it is a gothic building and it looks so grand.

I had Ouse River cruise and it was so relaxing on the boat. The boat crew talked about the history and the builings of York but her voice was too flat and made me falling asleep on the boat. I was a little surprised to see so many ducks in the river.

Cliffords Tower is a symbol of York and you can see the fantastic panoramic views of York from the top. I didn't get on the top but the Tower really looks impressive. Then I walked around the medieval shops and they sells many traditional English snacks. I tried Fudge and it tasted good. I thought it would be too sweet for me but it was good.

Then I visited the York Dungeon, it's a theme of gory exhibits. Inside the Dungeon, there are Vampires, Gorvik, Torture Chamber, The Plague, Dunpowder Plot... It's not really scary but if you are a coward person, you may scream and scared by them suddenly.

The 6th Day in LIVERPOOL

Took 2 hours train to Liverpool, the 1st place that I visit was the Walker Art Gallery. There are many nice paintings and statutes in the Gallery and I like those classical paintings. I think it's a must go place in Liverpool if you like arts. Then I visited the World Museum and it was ok. There are 5 floors in World Museum, each floor has different exhibition like something about space, human, bugs, dinosaur, earth, aquarium... I think the aquarium was ok but the others didn't interest me much.

There are 5 cities in Liverpool City Regions and I only had time to visit Liverpool city. I walked near by the Rivier Mersey and visited the Albert Dock, shops and Tate Liverpool. I didn't really visit Tate Liverpool coz I got out straight away when I knew it was also Modern Art like Tate Modern.

It is so relaxing to have a walk near by the river especially if you are with someone special. I don't think I can have chance to enjoy walking along the river in Hong Kong.

China Town in Liverpool isn't very big and surprisingly I couldn't see any Chinese in the China Town. China Town was so quiet and it's so different with the China Town in Toronto and Sydney.

There are few Cathedrals in Liverpool and I only got time to visit Anglican Cathedral. It is the largest Anglican Cathedral in the world and one of the great buildings of the twentieth century. St.James Mount and Gardens is adjacent to the Cathedral and I had a walk in the Gardens. There is a quiet garden and you can relax there and do anything you want under the tree.

I tried Fish and Chips in Liverpool but it wasn't traditional Fish and Chips. I don't think it was good and I don't understand why it is the most famous dish in England. Fish and Chips are too greasy for me.

I like this city very much and also I like the football team Liverpool. What a pity I didn't have chance to visit Anfield coz it is too far away from the city.

The 5th Day in MANCHESTER

I overslept this morning and it was a bit late when I arrived Manchester. I visited the Manchester Art Gallery, People's History Museum and the Museum of Science & Industry in Manchester. Those museum were ok and it didn't bother me much coz they were free entry.

The Wheel of Manchester looks like The London Eye but I like this wheel more than London eye. It made me want to have a ride on it but I didn't feel that way when I saw the London Eye.

Manchester is a big city and there were lots of people in the streets and shopping malls. I saw many people lying on the grass and enjoying the sunshine. And some people had picnic in the Park. I wanted to sit on the grass too but it was wet :P I'm not used to sit on the grass and enjoy sunshine like western people. I like sun but I don't like to get tanned!

Tuesday, May 30, 2006

The 4th Day LONDON+BURNLEY

Visit British Museum in the morning. It wasn't as good as I thought. I understand why it is free entry. It's ok to walk around for free but never expect too much. The most funny thing is I saw Chinese paper money, paper slaves and paper necessaries (for burning to the dead people) in the China exhibition hall. I don't understand what make British people feel so valuable to exhibit these stuffs.
-

After lunch, I had to say GOODBYE to LONDON coz I was going to take the train to the North! When I arrived Burnley it was already evening. Then I had a nice dinner and watched football game for England and Hungary. Owen wasn't very sharp in this game and I felt asleep when he was taken out :P I'm a really football fans, it's just I was too tired after a long journery from South to North :P Don't doubt my passion for football, huh?

The 3rd Day in LONDON

Woke up Early again and went to St. Paul's Catherdral in the morning. It was so windy, cold and drizzly. I couldn't stand for the cold weather so I had a hot Latte in Starbucks and planned to go somewhere indoor.

I didn't plan to go to Tate Morden coz I'm not really interested in Morden Art but it was the only indoor tourist attraction that near by St. Paul Catherdral. I walked pass through this Millennium Bridge to Tate Morden. There were some kids playing skateboards outside the Tate Modern and they did many stuns! The Artwork didn't impressive me so I didn't stay long in Tate Morden.

I took the tube to Convent Garden to see what kinda market it is. There are some shops and a little market and they were quite a lot of people to see the street shows. Many street performers earn money in this way.

Then going to Oxford Circus to look for the shops of Fred Perry and Whittard of chelsea and Burton. I couldn't get something I wanted in Fred Perry coz it was too expensive. ₤65 for a polo shirt, are they kidding? I got some tea and a wristband only.

Walk from Oxford Circus to Tottenham Court Road, I wondered Tottenham football pitch was around there or not. After that, I went to the most famous department store - Harrods. Got a cute Teddy Bear and it's so huggable!! ;)

The 2nd Day in LONDON

I woke up in the early moring and started my 2nd day trip in London. Although the hostel was including breakfast, it was self severed and the breakfast didn't look attractive, so finally I ate pancake in McDonald. After breakfast, I visited the most popular tourist attractions in London like Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, London Eye, River Thames, Tower of London, Tower Bridge...

The Big Ben doesn't look as big as I thought. But it is really impressive!

I didn't get on The London Eye coz I don't think it's worth for ₤15. So I just took few pics for it.

I thought the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace started at 11am but when I was there, it was nearly noon. Fortunately it started at 12pm and I didn't miss seeing it!!

After eating something, I visited Tower of London and Tower Bridge. The weather wasn't really good so it looks a bit gloomy in the pic. I wonder how Americans confused with London Bridge and Tower Bridge. I didn't have time to see London Bridge but I heard it was only a normal Bridge but not as impressive as the Tower Bridge.

tRiP tO eNgLaNd

I have been packing my luggage for whole night and I didn't expect my luggage would be so heavy! It's only some clothes, coats and necessaries. I really wonder how can people manage to go travel with their backpack. They don't need to bring anything? Or because I bring too many things? When I arrived airport, it was only 5.30am!! The shops at the airport hadn't opened yet. Flight departed at 7.50am, surprisingly the seat of Qantas wasn't very narrow and the flight attendants were very friendly. I couldn't sleep in the flight, I watched a movie "Casanova". The movie is so entertaining because it is well acted, the costumes and the backgrounds are good, and the story itself is very romantic and humorous. I wondered why it wasn't released in Hong Kong.

After 12 hours flight, it was already 1.30pm when I arrived Heathrow Airport. I took few hours to get my luggage, pass the immigrant and take tube to the hostel. The hostel is in Kings Cross which is very convenient but the room was so tiny and the breakfast was bad. The hostel is run by Russians, they are quite friendly but I think they can't understand English very well. Anyway I don't think I will stay this hostel again.

After checking in to the hostel, it was nearly 4.30pm. I was planning to visit flea markets and Harrods but the flea markets close at around 5pm and also it was heavy rain. So I stayed in the hostel and got some rest.

X-MEN 3

I watched X-Men: The Last Stand tonight. It was good. The visual effect was great and the story was a little bit unexpected. I heard it was the end of Xmen series but I think there may be a potential part 4. Overall I like X-men 2 most because the story was better than this one. But remember don't leave your seat so soon!! There is still ending after the ending!! You will know what I mean when you watch it!!

I CAN BE A TEACHER?!

I've never thought I would be a Japanese teacher. I learn Japanese for interest, I didn't think I could be a teacher. Someone asked me to teach an elementary class, frankly I don't have confidence. I don't mean teaching kana is difficult for me, I think the most difficult thing is how to interest students in the class since I don't have any teaching experience. Also I have to prepare the teaching materical by myself but the class will start soon!! May be it's chance for me to use my Japanese but I'm still hesitating to take this job or not.

Count Down for WORLD CUP

I've checked the match schedule for England and luckily the 1st two matches are not too late and definately I can watch it. But for the game for England and Sweden, they play at HK time 3am and it's weekday!! How can I manage to watch it? Someone reminded me that I resigned the job for the World Cup 2002, but I couldn't remember I resigned because of this reason. May be it was one of the reason but I was still young and I thought I could look for another job easily. Now I won't be so hasty. But I am tempted to take few days off for watching World Cup. Is it kind of wasting my annual leave?

DA VINCI CODE

DA VINCI CODE is a hot topic now. I didn't have any expectation on this movie so I wasn't too disappointed after watching it. It's really not easy to simply put this complicated novel on the screen. I have read the novel and I think this film doesn't show the dramatic and mysterious way like the novel does. The growing affection between the two lead characters Langdon and Sophie was skipped. And it also skipped the mixed feelings of Sophie toward her grandfather. I don't think this film is a suspense coz it didn't make me feel eager to know what is going to happen (may be becoz I've read the book).

I don't understand why so many Christian groups strongly boycott this film and to have this film cut or banned. I heard this story has impacted many Christians but it's only a fiction. Just believe what you believe, how can your belief collapse easily?

My DrEaM

Have you ever had similar dreams with the same person on every few months? When you wake up, you may not remember your dreams but then suddenly during daytime, there is something flashing through your mind and you start to recall part of your dreams. Isn't it strange? I heard that People most often portrayed in dreams are actually reflections of your own personality traits. But I'm not dream analysist so I can't tell. But what make me dream like that?

CuRrEnCy CoNvErSiOn

What's the problem with US dollars? Continued dollar weakness? Who say it would bounce from its lows? Darn! I really don't want to convert my money to Pounds now! ₤1 = HK$ 14.6!!! I should have converted when the exchange rate wasn't high. But who knows? If I knew, I was a foreign currency buyer already!! Why Hong Kong dollar and US dollar are not unpedded?

MoThEr'S dAy

Mother's Day is kinda commercial nowadays. People treat their mothers well especially on this day like sending flowers, dining out with mothers, buying gifts... But we are not only treat our mothers well on this day. It's just like to do something to prove that you are a dutiful son/daughter. So meaningless! If you love your mother, everyday can be Mother's Day, right?

Scorpio Horoscopes / Blue Mood

== Scorpio Horoscopes for May 8th - May 14th ==

"A strong Seventh House offers the opportunity to enjoy your relationships and partnerships.

You are able to work together with others to achieve a common goal. This could mean working with a business partner to reach career goals or working with your love partner to bring your relationship to a new level. Be open about your feelings and share your concerns.

You feel the need to do things for your lover and show your affection through actions. There will be romantic opportunities in the work place and your charisma is now the strongest in this area.
This is a period of increased social activity and you will be getting more invitations than you can attend. This is also a period during which you will learn about compromise and about putting other people’s needs first."
-
Read this weely Horoscopes by chance and what I can say is half accurate. I don't indugle in astrology or tarot but it's fun to read these stuffs sometimes. I believe people can determine their own destinies and not destines control us.

== BLUE MOOD ==
-
I feel so blue and dull today. Don't wanna go out but I do nothing at home. Want to watch a funny film but I don't have any new funny VCDs. I expected to watch Stephen's Diary but it wasn't on TV tonight. I thought Cup finals would be broadcast on Cable TV but it's broadcast on Now Broadband TV! I don't have Now TV and I can't watch it! Why nothing is smooth today?

So TiReD!!

These days I feel so tired... I feel like I lost my energy and I don't want to do anything after work. I have headache and my back is stiff. I want to be in a luxury spa and relax. May be I'm under stress at work recently but I know I can cope in stressful situations. And who don't feel stress when they are working?

PHANTOM OF THE OPERA TICKET

Finally I reserved the tickets of The Phantom of the Opera Musical! Yay! I didn't want to reserve the most expensive tickets but the cheap tickets are fully booked. But at least it's cheaper to watch it in London. I hestitated to book Stage A final row of Stalls or 1st row of Circle but seems it Circle is better coz it's on the upper floor. Really can't wait to watch it!!

GET RID OF SOMETHING

When you get tired of something, it's not easy to interest you again. You may try to give yourself a good excuse to get rid of it. But when you think about how much time and money that you have spent on it, you may start to think whether it's worth to give up or not. But how to arouse your interest again? I don't want to give up but I don't have internet anymore.

HAIR STRAIGHTENED

I went to salon to straighten my hair today and I don't feel natural with it. I'm not used to see my long straight tidy hair :P I want to try to perm my hair but I know I will be too lazy to set my hairstyle everyday. Also I don't think curly hair suits me. Girls look older than their age when they have curly hair. My sister is a good example ;-) No one can tell she is 4 years younger than me!!

M:i:III / ID card Replacement

== M:i:III ==

Watched Mission Impossible III tonight. Comparing with the M:i:II, I think this one is more exciting. Great stuns, cool gadgets and good visual effects. The story line is ok but I think some plots don't make sense. Some ending scenes are so predictable but overall this movie is quite good.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

== Smart ID Card Replacement ==

I went to replace my smart ID card after work, I didn't make appointment but there were not many people and it was quite smooth. I wanted to add my English name but there is extra charge. Also If I make any changes on my name, all my passports and other things need to be changed also. Finally I keep everything unchanged.

BuSy WoRk

I had a very busy day and I feel like my work is piling up. Does it mean I'm becoming important now? It's quite annoying when people keep coming up to your desk and ask you something that you are not familiar either. Then you start to take over the job and work on it. And what would you do if your Japanese manager discusses something with the new supervisor next to you and then you know they hardly communicate? You would just pretend you were busy and not offereing any help? Or you would translate for them? Why I have to do this? Someone who can speak excellent Japanese but why she just sits there and do nothing? I think I can never finish my work if I keep helping them. But what are the solutions?

SICK

I'm so sick today! This afternoon I suddenly had stomachache and then started to vomit and have diarrhea. I didn't eat anything wrong, I only drank a cup of milk, ate an orange and a little bit smoke salmon. It's so strange that I was so sick but after taking pain killer and took a nap, I felt much better. Dad even asked me to see doctor and call in sick on the following day. Hahaha it reminds me of somone who usually called in sick.
