DAY 4 BANGKOK

We could wake up a bit late today coz it was our free day to go shopping!! Nan and Foo had to work so they didn't have time to meet us. We wanted to take a tuk tuk to a sport street to buy things but this tuk tuk driver asked us to help him!! He said he could drive us for 40 bhats but when we got on the tuk tuk, he said he had to drive us to a shopping centre first coz he could get free gas.

We didn't want to go but he seemed friendly so we didn't bother to help him. That shopping centre wasn't too big but it mainly sold the jewelry. We weren't so interested so we didn't stay long there. Obviously we are not rich (except someone) LOL

This driver was very funny and friendly. He even let us to take pics with his tuk tuk and asked us to pretend driver hehe . But he kept saying I looked like Thai =_= I know I'm tanned!! Thanks for reminding me...

Finally he drove us to the sport street and he said he could free the tut tuk fees for us but we still paid for him. It didn't cost much. AC wanted to buy a pair of boxing gloves and the hand strips and it was much cheaper than Hong Kong!!

Then we went to Siam Centre to have lunch at the food court. We had some Thai noodles and mango stick rice for dessert! So cheap and delicious!!

We shopped around at Siam Centre but we didn't buy many things coz we ran out of cash :P So we went back to hotel to take a nap in the evening. We were sooooo tired!! I felt a lot better after napping!!

But at night it rained heavily so we took the taix to somewhere near by the place that we were going massage. We booked the spa and massage at 10pm and we had a quick dinner coz we didn't have much time. I wanted to eat French or Japanese food but somehow we didn't. Finally we had Thai food again!! I think I would stop eating Thai food for a while when I go back to Hong Kong!!

The massage room was big and the interior design was pretty good. We had body scrub, body massage and herbal ball massage. It was so relaxing!! It lasted for 3 hours and I felt asleep on half way :P

We often said some silly Thai language to express ourselves and the massagists laughted at us :P But it was very fun!!

DAY 3 BANGKOK

Met Foo at hotel lobby at 10am, and then she took us to visit The Grand Palace. It is not allowed to wear shorts and sleeveless to The Grand Palace and we all knew that. But PY thought her shorts were long enough so finally she had to borrow Sarong for getting in :D It is my first time to see her wearing like that!! So funny! :D

The Grand Palace is very big and imprssive!! We visited the temple, walked around and took pics. But it was too hot and too sunny so we didn't stay outside too long. I don't want to get tanned anymore!!
.
Foo took us to another temple to see the Big Buddha. PY said this Buddha is the biggest lying buddha statue in Bangkok.

Then we had Thai Style Hainanese chicken rice for lunch. It is very famous and the guide book strongly recommends it. I think it was good but not that special.

After lunch Foo took us to Platnium to shopping, this shopping mall is like a local shopping centre, I bought a very nice boxer!! It was 1500 bhats and we bargained with the shopper and he offered us discount!! I bought this boxer for 900 bhats :D

Then we went to the other shopping mall, Foo's sister had an accident suddenly and she had to go. So we shopped by ourselves. We bought a lot of things in Boots and Big C!!

We didn't want to carry so many things so we went back to hotel to put down our stuff and then went to China Town to buy some souvenirs and have dinner. We bought a lot of snacks!!

We had dinner at a Chinese restaurant. We ordered shark fins soup, big prawns, vegetable and sea cucumber and bird's nest as dessert. I think the food in Bangkok has rather strong taste than in Hong Kong. They are very spicy, salty and sweet!!

After dinner, we bought some durian but it is not allowed to eat in the hotel so we ate in front of the hotel LOL The bellboy laughted at us :P The durain was cheap and it was very delicious!!

DAY 2 BANGKOK

Woke up at around 8.30am, I was very sleepy and I was reluctant to wake up. But I'm on my vacation!! I didn't want to waste my time on the bed!! Also we asked Nan to meet us at the hotel lobby at 10am so we couldn't sleep long.

It's good too see Nan again!! It has been 8 years and it was very lucky that we met her and she helped us!! And thanks Hang that he still keeps contact with her!! :)

We planned to have breakfast at the hotel restaurant and then go out with Nan but someone was very slow and finally we didn't have time to breakfast. Nan looked prettier and she could recognise us!!

We took the taxi to Chak to Chak to have breakfast first coz we were very hungry. We had Pad Thai and American breakfast and spring rolls. The Pad Thai was pretty good!! But it's kinda strange to order American breakfast!! We supposed to have Thai food, right? :D

Chak To Chak is a very big flea market and there are many kind of things such as clothes, accessories, food, ornaments, shoes... We chilled out there for 3 hours and I bought a pair of Flip Flops and some scarfs. They were so cheap!! But it was very hot there, no air-conditioning and fans!! Bangkok was hotter than I expected!!

Then we had some Thai light food for lunch and went to have feet massage and Thai massage. The massagist was very experienced and she made me feel relaxed. It was painful tho! I could nap a bit when I had feet massage but it was very painful for the Thai massage!! My shoulders were very stressed and tight so when she massaged on my shoulders, I felt so painful!!

After the 2 hours massage, we had afternoon tea in a cafe. I ordered New York Cheese cake and white chocolate coffee, they were yummy!! :) The cheese cake was very rich and I liked it a lot!!

Then we went shopping at Centre World. We went to Naraya and there were many Hong Kongers in the shop!! So crazy!! The bags there were cheap but I don't understand why it is so popular. AC bought a lot of bags there!! I only bought 2, 1 is for myself and 1 is for my friend. I can't see why it is so popular.

Nan couldn't have dinner with us, we guessed she had to meet her friends so we went back to hotel, rested a bit and then went out for dinner. We went to Suan-Lam Night Bazaar and had dinner there.

We ordered a lot of food such as Raw Shrimp, Curry Crab, Tung Yam Kung and Fish... The portions were big and we hardly finished them all!! But the food was very delicious and the manager of the restaurant was so friendly!! He gave us discount card and said we could use it when we go to Bangkok again!! :)

DAY 1 HONG KONG / BANGKOKG

Yay I'm going to Bangkok!! But I still had to work today becoz I could only get 1 day off... Time ran so fast today!! I wasn't really in holiday mood yet coz I was too busy!!

After work I rushed back home, took my luggage and then went to the airport. Our departure fight was at around 22.30. We took Emirate so we had to go to terminal 2. It is pretty far away from terminal 1.

We were so hungry but we didn't have much time to have dinner at the airport so we had to wait to eat on the flight! The flight meal was ok. We watched the movie and then slept for a while on the flight. When we arrived, it was nearly 1am.

When we were waiting to pass through the Customs, I could see there were a lot of Hong Kongers!! This is a long weekend, no wonder everyone wants to have a short trip and Bangkok is a good and cheap choice!!

The bangkok airport is so big and new!! I can't remember how the old airport looked like. It was 8 years ago when the last time I went to Bangkok before!!

AC booked a van to pick us up from the airport to the hotel. We walked around the airport and looked for the driver! I'm sure he was late so we didn't see him when we got out!! He drove pretty fast and it only took 30mins driving.

We stayed in Hotel Ibis which is a 3 stars hotel. They don't have much facilities. We prefered to spend more money on shopping and entertaining so we didn't need a 5 stars hotel. The room was quite big but the light was too dim.

It was pretty late after we had settled down and we were so tired so we headed to bed as soon as we can!!

DINNER UNDER TYPHOON SIGNAL#3

What a nasty morning!! It was typhoon signal #8 since last midnight so this morning we didn't need to work. But the typhoon became weaker and we had to rush back to work in the afternoon when it was changed to signal #3. I couldn't sleep well this morning coz I got phone calls from my colleague and I had to be ready to go back to work anytime. I was so sleepy!!

On the way to work I got text messages from Chocolate and I thought we would cancel the dinner of tonight becoz of the nasty weather. I really hate going out during rainy days. He said he wouldn't change the date of the dinner no matter what!! It was quite funny coz he never confirmed us which restaurant and what time!!

Finally I booked Tony Roma's at Time Square coz they didn't have any plan!! Really don't understand why I had to arrange since it wasn't ME who called for the gathering!! But anyway it's good to see them again and Carol has gruduated finally!! She is an evangelist now! Congrats!!

SU CASA

Dinner at Su Casa tonight. The former name of this restaurant is Mi Casa but they have moved and changed a new name. I asked the owner of the restaurant that the meaning of the name, she said "Mi Casa" means "My Home" and "Su Casa" means "Your Home".

Though this restaurant is small, they can really make us feel likes home. They provided good service and the food was great. We ordered some oysters, Garry kept asking us if the oysters were ok and he tried to do his best. The foie gras and the steak were so delicious!! The steak was so juicy and soft!! I liked the creamy sauce risotto too!! :D We had tiramisu and Crème brûlée as dessert. I liked the Crème brûlée more ;) It's always so enjoyable whenever I have dinner there!!

PHOTOGRAPH

Although I got a DSLR camera, I never have time to figure out how to use it. Most of my friends are using Nikon Cameras and they can't teach me how to use Canon. Finally I got a friend to guide me now :D

I'm usually amazed by Schindler's photography skills and thanks god he uses Canon :D We went to Pak Tau Kau with his friend and one of our AF's classmate today to take pics. It was a nice sunny day and good for taking pics!!

Schindler lent me his lens so I can have a try. His lens are so cool!! I could take nice pics with his super lens!! I could take the close up of the flowers, insects and butterflies :) It makes me want to buy a nice lens!!

I rather like taking scenery pics so he suggested me to buy the EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 lens first coz it's a wide angle lens which is suitable for taking scenery pics. I really want to buy it and hopefully I can save up some money and buy it next month!!

CARMEL REUNION

I haven't been back to Carmel for many years, it has been a long time since I graduated. It's good to go back again. Miss Ng is leaving Hong Kong soon so Zanthnia organised this barbecued reunion at Carmel.

When I walked around Oi Man Estate, it brought me back the old memories and it has been changed a lot. I think Carmel is smaller than before!! Maybe becoz I have grown up a lot? :D

It was good to see old friends and we look quite the same. Of course some people have big change and they amazed us!! We talked about old school life and our current lives and jobs, wow I feel so old now!! Tho it was pretty hot and it wasn't suitable to barbecue, we had good time!!

After barbecue, few of us went to TST to have drinks and chitchatted. It was fun and I'm looking forward to the coming gathering!!

THE CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: PRINCE CASPIAN

I didn't watch the 1st one again before watching this sequel so I hardly remember the background of the story. But overall this film was very entertaining and I think it is better than the 1st one. The battle scene was good and with good visual effects. The film is a bit long tho it was pretty good!

PLAYING CARDS TRICKS

I'm quite into magic and I want to learn the tricks. A friend gave me a deck of magic playing cards and it made me want to learn how to play card tricks!! Good sleight of hands is important and I gotta practise!! It would be so fun and cool to be an amateur magician :D

LEVEL 7 FINISHED!!

It was the last day of the level 7 French class, we whole class had dinner together. It was pretty late after class and some people didn't like to go to TST so we just chose a curry restaurant in Jordan.

I'm a bit happy that I can go on level 8 but the most happiest is we can have another teacher in the next term! :P I don't mean I don't like Eric, it's just his teaching method doesn't fit me well. He is too harsh and serious sometimes... Even tonight when we had dinenr, he was still quite serious and he seemed didn't like to be so close with his students.

Anyway I really gotta catch up my French during the term break!!

SAHARA + BULLDOG

Still raining today!! I miss the sun and I don't feel like going out during rainy days. But we have arranged this gathering for a long time so no matter what won't postpone again.

Dinner at Sahara at Soho. It's a Middle East Restaurant. It was my first time to go there and the food was quite good. The light was very dim but it fit the atmosphere of the restaurant. I don't know what we ate coz Raynie ordered the food. I guess we had salad, fish, pork, kebabs and a special drink.

I even tried smoking shisha in apple mint flavour! It was very interesting!! I'm not addicted to it but I quite like it. So fun!!

"Shisha"

After dinner, we went to Bulldog to have a drink and watched Euro 2008. We watched the game for Spain and Sweden. I supported Spain but the game was a little bit boring. I thought they would draw the game but during the extra 2 mins of 2nd half, Villa scored a goal. He was cool!!

The following game was Russia vs Greece, we weren't interested at all so we headed back home.

DINNER AT SENSHURAKU

What a busy week and finally it's Friday!! I arranged to meet supplier after work so I could leave at 6.15pm!! I don't want to use my private time to meet supplier but I can't go during work time. Too busy...

After meeting suppliers, I had dinner with friends at Senshuraku. We planned to watch movie but it was full so we only had dinner. Christophe came with his French roommates and we talked in French a bit :P Still hard for me to understand French and it took me time to think what they were asking!! We ordered a lot of food and we ate a lot!! I was sooo full!!

They had to catch up the ferry to Lamma so we went home after dinner. It rained heavily again!! It has been raining for 2 more weeks already! When will it stop? I hate rainny days!!

ANN SALLY BEST OF THE BEST

Going out with my friends but they were late so I went to Hong Kong Records to kill time. Didn't mean to buy any CDs but after listening this album, I like it. I have never heard Anna Sally and I dunno where she is from but her voice is very good and the songs are very easy listening. This is the kinda vocal Jazz that I like so I just bought her CD.

I looked up her info when I got home and found that she is Korean by ancestry but she was born and raised in Japan. She doesn't sound like Japanese at all!! There are 3 Japanese songs in this album but I like the English songs more. It's good to listen in the middle of the night.

A DAY WITHOUT PLAN

We planned to go to Macau for a day trip but becoz of our laziness, we were too late to book the ferry ticket adn they are all full!! Finally we had no plan for today. I woked up at around 2.30pm and then call my friends to see what we can do. AC suggested to have Thai food and we came out to Pacific Place at around 6pm and then shopped around first.

This Thai food restaurant is kinda like private dinning but the food was cheap and delicious!! It is managed by Thai people and they have lived in Hong Kong for nearly 30 years!! There were very nice and we learned some Thai language from them.

I liked this dessert "Coconut rice with mango", very sweet and delicious!! After dinner we went to Carnegie's to have a drink. There was live band show and it was great!! I like the atmosphere there but seems PY didn't really enjoy! She was quite quiet!! :D

Then we went to watch "Sex and the City" in the midnight. Tomorrow is public holiday so we can stay up later than usual. I didn't want to watch this movie yet coz I promoised to watch with someone on coming Friday. But Hang and FC have watched Indiana Jones already so we got no choice. Well I may watch again on coming Friday =_=

I haven't watched the drama of "Sex and the City" so I have no idea about the background of the story. It's quite funny and with a lot of amusing scenes but it would be better if I have seen the drama. I think the best parts of the movie were the fashions and I quite like the character of Samantha, she was cute and funny :D

EURO 2008

Euro 2008 has started finally!! I had been waiting to watch it but since I knew England isn't in, I feel less interested to watch. I still can't believe England is out!!

The 1st game for Switzerland and Czech Republic was a bit boring :P I don't have specific team that I would like to support, probably I will watch the games of Spain and Italy if I have time.

BETTER TO STAY THAN LEAVE

My colleague has just passed the probation but she handed in the resignation letter few days ago. We were shocked!! She is a very smart girl and we really don't want her to leave!! She leaves becoz of some reasons and I've tried my best to fix the problem for her already. We tried hard to persuade her to stay and finally she agreed. We are so busy and short of staffs already. It would be a big trouble if someone is going to leave!!

My manager asked me to go to work on Sat to be a IT support. So crazy!! Why me? I'm not professional and I have no idea what I have to do. But I will get compensation leave so now I'm planning to travel at the end of month!! Ok No problem to work on Sat :D

DAVID GREILSAMMER PIANO SOLO

Watching the Piano Solo of David Greilsammer at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts tonight. It was quite hard to find the way and we were almost late. I expected the concert hall would be quite big but it was so small!!

Actually I have no idea who Greilsammer is but me and my friends want to join some events of Le French May so we chose to watch this Piano Solo. I like classical music but I was very disappointed with his performance. He has skill but not really impressive and he played piano like practising piano at home. He had to read the music scores (usually the pianist memorises the songs and no need to read the music scores) and he threw the music scores on the ground after finishing the chapter.

He played 6 pieces but I only know Mozart Sonate en la mineur and Mozart Sonate en Do mineur. Other pieces were quite boring and we almost fell asleep. I can't say he wasn't good but it's just he played non-standard repertoires which didn't impress me much.
